Monster Energy / Halfords Bikehut NPS Rd 5 Final I
By: Alan on 17th September, 2008
Overall Series Podiums will be for the top three in each category.
We have distributed posters around the surrounding areas to openly publicise this weekends event so we are expecting bumper crowds and parking to be tight as the over flow field may well be water logged so please park sensibly.
Warning! Last weekend a DH race bike was stolen from Peebles. Please make sure bikes and all valuables are locked in vehicles at all times both trackside and in the surrounding areas.
Please place all your rubbish in one of the two skips provided.
Steve and myself look forward to seeing you all trackside so make sure you drive safely!

Next weekend will see Round 5 of the Monster Energy and Halford’s Bike Hut NPS Downhill change venue from Carlton Bank to Innerliethen in Scotland on Saturday and Sunday the 21st of September 2008.
With the North East seeing over a months rainfall in one day the finishing field looks more like a lake than a race village.
With more predicted rainfall this week we have no guarantees the field will dry up in time thus leaving zero access to the site. We caught up with local resident Noah who was in the adjoining field rapidly shepherding his flock, “I’ve just had to re-felt the roof of my old boat as it looks like it might be coming out of retirement soon..”
We have therefore quickly moved the venue to Innerleithen which is the U.Ks No1 destination for Downhill racing and is the most established of race venues situated a stones throw from the picturesque town. The chosen course is littered with rocks, exposed roots and ruts to challenge the best of them. Add the tightly packed trees and steep twisting corners this is a technicians dream, for those of you with wide bars, watch your knuckles!
Parking, spectating and camping is always free at the NPS and the crew from Monster Energy will be providing their huge sound system and massive Wigwam for everyone to chill out in. Live timing and commentating along with several retailers and caterers on-site and a MTB film showing on the big screen Saturday night means this is a great weekend for the riders and spectators!
Racing Schedule
Saturday
09:00 to 14:30 Open Practise
15:00 to 18:00 Seeding
Sunday
09:00 to 12:30 Practice
13:00 Race Runs
16:30 Podium
17:00 Wheel spin..
Directions: Innerleithen is situated one hour directly South of Edinburgh just off the A72, north of Galashields and South of Peebles. (5 miles from Glentress). Direction signs will be up from Thursday evening.
!!!!!!!!NPS Round 5 Venue Change!!!!!!!!!!!
By: Alan on 8th September, 2008
Round 5 will now be at Innerleithen.
Firstly apologies to everyone as we have had to change the venue at such short notice. The race pit field is so water logged we are unable to stage the final round of the NPS at Carlton Bank.
With more predicted heavy rainfall this week we reluctantly have had to move the venue.
Many thanks to everyone at Carlton Bank who have put such hard work into creating an awesome track. We very much look forward to racing at Carlton for an NPS in 2009.
PLease forward all entry enquiries to Steve Parr - steveparr66@yahoo.co.uk
Many Thanks.
Steve Parr and Si Paton.Carlton Bank Uplift
By: Alan on 28th August, 2008
From James Metcalfe:Just like to say how much some of the fastest riders on the UK race circuit enjoyed Carlton Bank. Danny Hart couldn't believe how good it was and can't wait for race weekend.
It left Arran, Lew, Sam and Mark speechless all of them loving it to bits.
Really hope race weekend works out as I know this track is going to be loved.
Now try out the new NPS track at Carlton Bank (Nr. Stokesley, North Yorkshire)
Please bear in mind this is a new track & one of the reasons for running the uplift is to bed the course in.
NO RIDING OUTSIDE OF ORGANISED EVENTS
We are going ahead with Sep 6/7 £30 per day or £55 for both days Uplift starts: 9:00am-4:30pm Freelap Poles on Course all weekend
